Love to Learn. Learn to Teach.
Whether you're looking to get a total body workout or wish to empower others to do so, Total Control
® Classes are currently available for participants as well as for individuals interested in instructor specialized training.
Get Empowered. Get Educated. Get a Workout!
The Total Control
® Program puts the spotlight on fitness from the inside out. Lead by certified instructors, the medically based classes focus on strengthening the pelvic core (Pelvic Pyramid) to help women of all ages improve flexibility and strength as well as promote sexual and bladder health. The program also features a comprehensive educational portion focused on alleviating symptoms and finding appropriate care. In addition to a great, safe and effective full body workout, you'll learn:
- Anatomy 101: Learn where these critical organs are, how they function and how they are supported!
- The Pelvic Pyramid: In the class, you'll receive clear, simple instruction on how to locate and activate Pelvic Pyramid muscles (transversus abdominis (TVA), multifidus, and pelvic floor muscles) in order to improve pelvic health and stability.
- Common dysfunctions: Learn about overactive bladder (OAB), stress urinary incontinence (SUI), and mixed incontinence-and how they differ. Also, you'll be able to recognize the signs of prolapse as well as learn how constipation can strain your normal pelvic functions.
- Treatment options: Learn about your options, from fitness to dietary changes, to behavioral therapy and pharmaceuticals, devices, and surgery. Discover how to find the right health care provider and what questions to ask and what to expect.
- Vocabulary list: Understand all the terms that relate to your pelvic health.
- Related topics: Get information about related topics, including nutrition, sex, and bathroom habits.
The seven-week program meets twice a week for 60 minutes of exercise, followed by 15 minutes of key pelvic health tips and includes course materials and a workbook.
